Many thanks to my dance teacher Bev Smith for being patient when I would suddenly freeze or forget the moves during dance class. Neither I or the other students knew that I was sick at the time.
Doing the tango and bellydancing is said to improve balance and mobility of patients with Parkinson's disease. Parkinson's is a progressive nerve condition, affecting about 120,000 people in the UK. The dance's movements - such as all the turning and walking backwards - are especially relevant to people with the condition. Also helpful for upper body strength.

I get up. I walk. I fall down. Meanwhile, I keep dancing.
