Next I needed a web host. As I was setting up my first website, the web host had to have step-by-step instructions and easy-to-use web building ‘tools’. I also needed to see instant results because I have the attention span of a …...Hey look! A butterfly!
I found there were lots of web hosters such as ‘Go Daddy’ ‘HostPapa’ ‘SuperGreen’ or ‘Fat Cow’ just to name a few but the techno babble about band width and Fudge factors etc bored me rigid!
After much deliberation, I’d almost made my mind up but as a complete novice maybe needing lots of help, I wanted back up from a real person on the other end of the phone when I needed it.
I called my chosen host just to see what the response time to the helpline was to actually talk to a real person. As soon as I heard ‘Good afternoon…….’ I simply put the phone down. I’m glad there wasn’t too much of a lull before someone spoke because I felt silly……all I could think of to say was ‘Hello is that Fat Cow’?
After that, setting up an account with Fat Cow online was fairly easy so while waiting for things to become ‘Live’ I got down to trying out their 'Weebly' easy drag ‘n’ drop method of putting web pages together which was easy for a begginer like me. That just left me with the hardest part of deciding on the look of my pages and what to write about.
So that’s briefly ‘How Now Fat Cow’ and as you can see, I am enjoying learning my new skills. I can udderly recommend Fat Cow hosting should you wish to set up a website of your own. Please let me know if you are interested as I will earn $20 for each person I recommend which will be donated to Parkinsons UK.
PS: Fat Cow claim to be ‘committed to using ‘100% wind energy…’ ….hopefully not the methane gas kind!
